The following are the various free training programmes conducted by State & Central Govt and implemented by Department of Fisheries for the Fisherman community of Tamil Nadu. The Govt of Tamil Nadu and the Central Govt. will provide all the necessary support to training attendees who can benefit from these programmes and prosper in all walks of Life.

So for under this scheme, 145 Fishery Youths were trained at an expenditure cost of Rs. 48.62 lakhs. |

Description of the training: NFDB conducts Skill Development Programme on Community Tank Management for enhancing fish production, cat fish culture and seed production, Re- Circulatory Aquaculture system and Marine Finfish seed rearing in ponds. NFDB has released administrative sanction for Rs.20 lakh for conducting 16 batches training programmes under the NFDB-HRD action plan in Fisheries sector for FY 2018-19 to benefit 800 numbers of Fish farmer/ Fisher/Fisherwomen @ 50 participants per batch. |

Description of the training: The beneficiaries engaging in Aquaculture in Farm pond, Cage rearing of fish seed, Earthen fish seed rearing cum culture farm, Cage farming of fish and Fish culture in irrigation tanks under TN-IAM project are mostly agriculture farmers/ Water User Association members. So far more than 526 beneficiaries have been trained under this programme at a cost of Rs 3.008 Lakh. |

Dearness Allowance (DA) | Rs. 500/ per trainee/ day | (i) Training, skill development & capacity building programmes for fish farmers & fishers and other stakeholders shall be carried through State Governments, UTs, Central Government Organizations/ Institutions such as KVKs, ICAR Institutes, ATMAs, ATARIs, Fisheries Institutes, State/ UT owned organizations, State agriculture/ veterinary/fishery Universities, fisheries federations, corporations etc. (ii) The training batch shall not be less than 50 (fifty) Trainees per batch. (iii) Training organization shall submit self contained proposal indicating, details of trainees, training courses, venue, infrastructure facilities available for the purpose, duration of the training programme, availability of boarding and lodging facilities, details of resource persons, anticipated outputs etc. (iv) Preferably, the trainees shall be identified by the respective State Governments/UTs. The Central Government shall also identify the trainees in consultation (if need be) with the concerned State Governments/ UT. |
